That’s a Wrap! Our Key Takeaways from the 2026 Conference Season

By: Raymond Alvarado

Conference season is starting to wind down, and after spending much of 2026 talking with HR professionals, talent acquisition teams, and business leaders across the country, one thing is clear: employers are looking for ways to make hiring simpler, faster, and more connected.

For our team at CRCA, conferences have always been about more than setting up a booth and handing out swag. They give us an opportunity to hear directly from the people doing the work every day.

And this year, we heard some common themes.

HR teams want fewer headaches.

Whether the conversation was about background checks, drug testing, occupational health services, or integrations, many HR teams told us they are tired of managing multiple vendors, disconnected systems, and processes that create extra work for their staff.

Employers want technology that makes their jobs easier – but they also want a real person available when something doesn’t go according to plan.

Candidate experience continues to matter.

A background screening process may only be one part of onboarding, but delays and poor communication can quickly affect a candidate’s first impression of an organization.

That’s why turnaround time, easy-to-use applicant workflows, responsive support, and clear communication continue to be such important parts of the conversations we’re having.

Integrations are becoming an expectation.

HR teams increasingly want their screening process to work within the systems they’re already using. Whether that’s an ATS or HRIS, employers are looking for ways to reduce duplicate data entry and keep their hiring process moving from one place.

At the same time, not every organization is ready to integrate immediately. Having the flexibility to start using a screening provider first – and integrate when it makes sense – can make a transition much easier.

Service still matters. A lot.

Technology continues to change our industry, but one of our biggest takeaways this year has been surprisingly simple: HR professionals still value having someone they can call.

When there’s a question about a report, a drug test, a clinic location, a compliance issue, or an applicant who needs help, being able to reach a knowledgeable person can make all the difference.

That’s something we don’t see changing anytime soon.

Our conference season isn’t quite finished yet.

We’ll be heading to Las Vegas for the HR Technology Conference & Exposition in October, where we’re looking forward to more conversations about where HR technology – and background screening – are headed next.

If we’ve had the opportunity to meet you at a conference this year, thank you for stopping by and spending some time with our team.

And if we haven’t met yet, come say HELLO!

At CRCA, we believe background screening doesn’t have to be complicated. With flexible month-to-month service, no minimums, no long-term contracts, and a U.S.-based team ready to help, we’re focused on making the screening process a little easier for HR teams and their candidates.

We’ll see you on the road!
